New Projects: (Beginning October 2007)
Planting Faith is financing, providing technical support, marketing assistance and discipleship training for the following projects in '07/'08:
Mang'u Passion Fruit Project - Sixty farmers will be growing passion fruit in the village of Mang'u and selling it for export to Europe.
Murang'a Passion Fruit Project - Sixty farmers will be growing passion fruit in Murang'a district near the village of Sagana and selling it for export to Europe.
Gachie Oyster Mushroom Project - Sixty farmers will be producing oyster mushrooms in the village of Gachie and selling them for both local and export markets.
Timau Cut Flower Project - Sixty farmers will be growing the cut flower "Mobydick" in the village of Timau near Mt. Kenya and selling it through an exporter to the Netherlands.
Past Projects:
Ithanga -- Two farmer groups -- one through the Anglican parish in Kaguku and the other through the Anglican parish in Ngelelya comprising over 90 farmers -- are growing passion for export.
Juja Farm - One farmer group with 45 farmers is growing passion fruit for the export market. They have also built a juicing facility and are producing fruit juices for the local market.
